HYDRO POWERS TO A GREENER BRITAIN

Posted by REALLY RUBBISH on Friday 18 Jun at 12:09

HYDROPOWER

As you know the UK is always very keen to generate lots of green energy and one process is using moving / falling water – this is known as hydro-power.   It has been reported that Britain’s hydro-power plant capacity may treble by 2020 as electricity producers make use of government incentives for cheaper renewable energy.

It is hoped that the number of hydro-electric power plants in Britain will rise from 400 today to 1,200 by 2020. The agency has already approved 29 hydro-power generation licences in Britain this year and is currently assessing another 166 applications.  There are at least 4,000 potential locations that could accommodate hydro-electric power plants.

Lets support these plans and power to a greener environment
