WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2010
Posted by Really Rubbish on Friday 4 Jun at 15:20
World Environment Day (WED) 2010 is aimed to be the biggest, most widely celebrated, global day for positive, environmental action on June 5th!
WED started on June since 1972, and is known worldwide for building awareness of the environment and encourages immediate action!
This Day gives a human face to environmental issues and enable people to realise not only their responsibility, but also their power to become ambassadors for change in support of a better environment.
WED 2010 is aimed to be the biggest WED celebration ever and we count on you to make this happen! We should all do our bit and get involved so here’s some ideas about how you can make a difference:
• Organise a neighbourhood clean-up,
• Stop using plastic bags – recycle old ones,
• Start growing your own vegetables in your garden
• Walk or cycle to school
• Reduce your food waste
• Recycle more at home and school!
Tell us how you contributed to World Environment Day and we’ll post your story on the website!
