NEW WASTE RECYCLING PLANT TO OPEN

A new waste recycling plant may be arriving just on the outskirts of Cardiff which should be really helpful for those of us who can’t make it to the centre
The new recycling plant uses its environmentally- friendly technology and it will divert black-bag household waste from landfill sites.
Sterecycle says its new technology is able to recover 70% of delivered residual waste from landfill by treating it with steam, which gets rid of the germs, and then separating it into reusable materials, including an organic compost-like material, clean plastics, metals and glass.
The waste is then sorted using recycling processes such as size screening and magnetic separation.
